Blue Hair for a few more weeks...

Hi there,

My name is Alice and I've worked with a lot of folks in this tribe. I have blue hair for the first (and possibly only) time in my life, and I would love to create some images of lasting worth before this haircut expires.

My hair is cobalt blue. Right now it is in a 70's foofy hairstyle, but as of Thursday the 26th it will be more of a bowl or mushroom cut.

I have a HUGE variety of costuming, from mild to VERY wild, including a lot of custom and unique designs. I work on location or in studios all over the SF bay area (based in the Santa Cruz mountains, but spend most of my time in SF). Dominatrix, clown, adventurer, you name it.

Anyone interested in collaborating?

Prefer folks who can at least finance my transportation (public transit) to the shoot. I don't do nude or erotic work as TFP, but I'm open to paid fetish and explicit work (I'm AIM tested and can provide my own male talent).

My main point in posting is to try to stir the waters on what used to be a fun and vibrant website... but, like I said, this haircolor is for a limited time and I want to live it up while I can.

(I won't go into all of the mundane details here, but I work in a very small, very socially interconnected field that is dominated by surprisingly conservative men). My career is the most important thing in my life, and always has been. As a result, I made the choice to quit performing with Glitzkrieg... and no longer have a use for the pasties, costume jewelry, flashy lingerie, wigs, and stage costumes I still have left. We're looking for some photos we can use for our next issue, "The Art of Seduction". Pin-up, tease-y type pictures would be best. Anyone got some pictures they could send along? As the first lines in this tribe state, do not post rental ads, stuff for sale, needing girls to come to your house to trample you, or anything that does not directly pertain to the hiring, use or collaboration with alternative models, photographers or makeup artists.

If you post anything else, I will delete you. This is for positive networking. I do not have time to babysit posts, nor wade through junk that does not matter to me. I created this for creative networking, nothing else. I imagine the people who join, join for that reason. Do not abuse the appreciation we all share in unconventional art by peddling items we do not want.

I had to go on a delete spree because I do not want this group catergorized as Mature as the moderators of Tribe are attempting to do. I want to have a community that is supportive and knowledgeable of models from 14 and up so I therefore had to eliminate all photos with any "pink" in them.

This turned out to mostly be Circle 23's (sorry man). If you all would care to post images, please do. I love seeing work, just no nudity.

A warning to hopeful models

I posted this in my online journal today, but thought it beared repeating here.

What is up with all of these overnight "I want to represent goth girl" websites?

They think "wow, what a great idea! I can associate with these beautiful girls and spam them with things that don't matter to them to seem like I'm hard at work for them". Sad but true, many people attempt to ingratiate themselves in this way to seem like more reputable model themelves, or to get pseudo affection from them.

What all these companies do not realize is that they do more harm than good. By having little to no casting standards, unorganized companies and nothing more than a poorly designed site, they flood the internet with wanna be hopefuls. Not only do they present to you "professional models" who are no better than girls with poor self esteem and webcams, but they allow true talent to think they have representation when in fact they only have someone who thinks it's a great idea for the day.

They have NO real idea of what it takes to run a company like Wicked Talent, yet so many try.

I'm all for people helping out alternative models. It's still not a real well supported decision, and the more the better, except when it comes to people who call themselves an "agency" when they are not. How many of these not even registered with a DBA companies know that being an agent takes at least a $10,000 bond much less credentials?

People like this sour the name of legitimate agency by tacking the word on, saying they are representatives and that YOU TOO can be a model.

No wonder so many models think everyone's out to scam them. They are! You do models no justice by falsifying information, presenting yourself as knowledgable, and having no guidelines as to whom you accept.

Competition doesn't bug me, but liars do.

I'm going to post a links list to these "companies" today in the hopes of helping others make more educated decisions. This will somewhat pain me, as I've made friendly with these people, but facts are facts and I've done my homework.

Be warned.

never done before

hey. i have never modeled before, at all. and i am not sure i am attractive enough, although some say i am(but it's hard to go by the opinions of people you know). and i was wondering how exactly you get into doing this. i already coresponded with a photographer, and even though he seemed interested at first, he didn't get back to me after the first few emails we exchanged, until he was about to leave town. so what should i do? any websites that help? what's everyone else's experiences?

also what exactly do the letters tfp stand for?

i must sound like a complete idiot, but any info you can give would be a great help. thanks a lot.
